Credit Sense is a comprehensive credit score management program that helps you stay on top of your credit.

 

What's your credit score?  With Credit Sense, powered by SavvyMoney®, you can have ongoing access to your credit score, along with recommendations to improve it. This comprehensive service not only helps you stay on top of your credit score, it monitors your credit report and will send you alerts when something changes.

All you need to get started with Credit Sense is access to Online Banking or Mobile Banking.  To get it set up, just follow these easy steps:

Online Banking

  1. Login to Online Banking.
  2. Click the Credit Sense image on the main screen.
  3. Read and accept the terms and conditions.
  4. Answer a few identifying questions.

Mobile Banking

  1. Login to the Mobile Banking app.
  2. Click the "More" tab at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select "Credit Sense".
  4. Read and accept the terms and conditions.
  5. Answer a few identifying questions.

That's it!  You're all set.

Who can access Credit Sense?

Credit Sense is available in Online and Mobile Banking and shows information related to the primary account holder on the account. If a joint member would like to access Credit Sense, they’ll need to open their own account.

How do I enroll in Online & Mobile Banking?

You can enroll in Online and Mobile Banking using the Sign Up Now link in the Online Banking login section of our home page. 

Do I have to pay to use Credit Sense?

No. Credit Sense is included as part of Online and Mobile Banking. You will need to sign up for Credit Sense for it to be active on your account.

How does Credit Sense receive my credit score?

Boulder Dam Credit Union works with a trusted third-party service provider, SavvyMoney®, to deliver Credit Sense to you through Online and Mobile Banking. The Credit Union does not receive this information from SavvyMoney® and no Credit Union employee can see your Credit Sense credit score. It is confidential and available only for you to view within your online account. SavvyMoney® will never share your personal information with outside entities.

How does Credit Sense keep my financial information secure?

The security of our members' financial information is our top priority. Boulder Dam Credit Union has partnered with a third-party, SavvyMoney®, to deliver members' credit scores through Credit Sense. SavvyMoney® applies its own security measures to Credit Sense using industry-standard security practices to protect your data.

Is Credit Sense an actual credit report?

No. Credit Sense shows your credit score from TransUnion using the VantageScore credit scoring model, which ranges from 300 - 850, along with key factors from your credit report that impact your score. The VantageScore credit scoring model was developed collaboratively by the three major credit bureaus, therefore it seeks to make score information more uniform between the three bureaus to provide consumers with a better picture of their credit health. Credit Sense does not include an actual credit report. You may request a full credit report annually - at no cost - from each of the three credit reporting bureaus (Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion) at www.annualcreditreport.com.

How often is my credit score updated in Credit Sense?

Credit Sense will automatically update your score once a month. You can update it more frequently by clicking "update" on the page that presents your score.

Will Boulder Dam Credit Union use Credit Sense's credit score to make loan decisions?

No. At Boulder Dam Credit Union, we have our own lending criteria, based on a full credit report, for making loan decisions and we do not have access to your Credit Sense credit score.

What if the information provided by Credit Sense appears to be wrong or inaccurate?

Should you find inaccuracies in your Credit Sense account information, such as loans that aren't yours or inaccurate balances, there is a link within Credit Sense to file a dispute with TransUnion, the credit bureau that provides Credit Sense its information. To further protect yourself from credit inaccuracies and to identify potential fraud, we recommend that you request one free credit report from each of the three credit bureaus annually at www.annualcreditreport.com. Each bureau has its own process for correcting inaccurate information. The Federal Trade Commission's website offers step-by-step instructions if you would like to contact the bureaus to correct errors.

Why am I seeing offers for Boulder Dam Credit products and services?

At Boulder Dam Credit Union, we’re always looking for ways to save you money. Credit Sense can offer you loans or other services offered at Boulder Dam Credit Union that may be of interest to you, and could save you money.

Will accessing Credit Sense show as an inquiry on my credit report?

No. Credit Sense accesses your credit score as a "soft inquiry" which does not alter your score in any way.

Does Credit Sense offer credit report monitoring as well?

Yes. Credit Sense offers free credit report monitoring which will alert you of certain types of changes to your credit report, including new credit accounts opened or attempted to be opened, delinquencies, bankruptcies and more.

Can members use Credit Sense on mobile devices?

Yes. Credit Sense is available for both mobile and tablet devices when logging in through the Mobile Banking App. Within the Mobile App, simply tap the "More" option and then "Credit Sense."
