Beware of Scams Look out for suspicious email and text messages, medical supply scams, and fraudulent donation sites that may impersonate a company, charity, or government agency. The intent is to convince you to share sensitive information such as usernames and passwords, make purchases or donations on spoof websites, or download malware onto your device by opening a malicious attachment. Boulder Dam Credit Union will never ask you for your personal information or log in credentials in an email or text message. If you receive a suspicious email or text message, don't respond, click on any links, or open attachments. Verify the authenticity of any website before making a purchase or donation. Help Stop the Spread of the Virus We are monitoring the guidance of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) regarding the spread of the virus. To maintain a safe workplace, and protect our members, here are the steps our staff is taking, and that you can take, to reduce the spread of the disease.
Economic Impacts As our community and the world struggles with the far-reaching ramifications of an event like this, we want you to know that we are here for our members. We understand that there may be instances where members find themselves facing financial difficulties. Boulder Dam Credit Union is here to help, and we encourage members who may be impacted or need assistance to reach out to discuss these issues with us so we can find a solution for you. American Rescue Plan ACT & Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES) In response to COVID-19, the federal government has released 3 rounds of economic stimulus and made adjustments to other items like income tax deadlines. The 2020 & 2021 coronavirus stimulus packages deliver relief through a range of measures, including an advanced tax rebate to taxpayers in the form of stimulus check(s)/funds or Economic Impact Payments (EIPs). Stimulus check(s)/funds will be based on information from your most recent tax filings. If your last tax refund came to your Boulder Dam Credit Union account your stimulus check(s)/funds will come here as well. This is a good time to make sure that the IRS has your most current information. You can do that by filing your 2020 tax return or updating your information on the IRS website. If additional stimulus checks are sent, please be patient and refrain from calling the Credit Union to see if your funds have arrived. If you just cannot wait to see if you received your stimulus check(s)/funds please use online or mobile banking to check your account. That way you can check as often as you want. If the IRS does not have information to send you an electronic payment they will mail you a check or send you a payment card. For additional information you can check the IRS Economic Impact Payment website. Loan Payment Waivers & Loan Payment Assistance In his address on March 29, 2020, Governor Sisolak made several public references to the waiver of loan payments for those borrowers whose jobs have been impacted by the pandemic and related business closures. He also made mention of the ability of financial institutions, and specifically credit unions, to work with their members on these loan payment deferrals. Boulder Dam Credit Union, as with other financial institutions, stands ready to assist those members in need of payment assistance but this is only provided to those members/customers who contact their lending institution to make arrangements. These payment deferrals do not happen automatically and it is paramount that borrowers contact their financial institution for the necessary arrangements. In addition to payment deferrals, Boulder Dam Credit Union payed a 50% interest refund of all interest paid in the 4th quarter of 2020 on all loans with the exception of Visa cards. The refund was posted to all members’ accounts effective January 1st and we hope this provides substantial relief for those impacted during this difficult time. Small Business Relief Programs & the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) We know that many small businesses in our community are struggling at this time. Unfortunately, our hands are tied here at the Credit Union. Only certified SBA lenders or lenders with specific approval can participate in the Paycheck Protection Program or the other SBA Disaster Relief programs. At this time Boulder Dam Credit Union is not a qualified SBA lender or approved lender. The best direction we can give right now is to visit SBA.gov and to search for a local lender, hopefully a credit union, that can help you today. |
